The piano music of William Vincent Wallace enjoyed phenomenal popularity in Australia, America, England, Ireland and Europe during the second half of the 19th century. His virtuoso works, both large and small share a common thread of romance as reflected in the names of his works and dedications, which in turn reflected his personal life. The music presented on this CD allows us once again to hear the works of this Irish romantic composer's music which so delighted performers and listeners alike during the Victorian era and still has charms to delight us today.

Reviews
“...Wallace's taxing piano-writing really puts Rosemary Tuck through the
hoop, but she emerges from its glittering challenges unbowed...” Fanfare
“Rosemary Tuck's championship of Vincent Wallace's thoroughly entertaining
piano music, packed with ingenious invention and lots of good tunes, wrapped
up in a constant variety of colourful harmony and imaginative keyboard writing,
is obviously aimed at encouraging a Wallace revival” Denby Richards,
Musical Opinion
"...the wholly winning efforts of Australian pianist Rosemary Tuck, whose
ideally deft and scintillating performances have been faithfully captured by
Phil Rowlands..." Andrew Achenbach, Gramophone
